Specialist in the CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION OF CERAMICS |
|
Based in South Wales, I trained at the Edward James Foundation, West Dean College, in the Conservation and Restoration of Ceramics and Porcelains (1980-81), and became an Accredited Member of the Institute of Conservation in 2000. During this time, I have developed a wide experience of working on many ceramic bodies and types ranging from Ancient Greek and Pre-Columbian artefacts, through to Chinese and Japanese Porcelains, Islamic wares, English, Welsh, and Continental ceramics, up to, and including the present day by contemporary ceramic by artists such as Dame Lucie Rie, Angus Suttie, Sutton Taylor and Michael Cardew. I undertake work from Public and Private bodies as well as private individuals and the Antiques Trade, and can work on site as well in my studio. In the following pages I have laid out information about myself and details of some of the projects I have worked on, along with explanations of the different approaches to the work, and the reasons for them. I hope you find it informative, I have tried to anticipate as many questions as I can, if I have missed anything out, or not made anything clear, please contact me and I will endeavor to answer your questions. |
